Cycling in the City
Tourists in our home town
Toronto is an amazing City in which to cycle. Days when we don't feel like doing the epic bike ride, we hop on the communter bikes and head into the City. Below are a few shots from some of our excursions.
The first picture is a view is from the Docks, one of our favourite desinations. http://www.thedocks.com/
Brad likes South Beach Sundays at the Docks. The reasons for this have not been captured in the photos. The sad thing is that they are going to lose their liquor licience in January because of the self-serving, free loading, hippies on Toronto Island.
Here is a view from Sandy Shore Road or something like that. It is just east of the MacDonalds on Lakeshore Road. As part of my job, I got to check out a million townhouse next to this view which part of a little infill or redevelopment near Lisa's. The only sad thing is the storm sewer outfall pipe that outlets here brings lots of nasty stuff and fertilizer to make the algae grow. When the algae rots and combines with the swan crap the smell is pretty impressive. Kinda reminds me of the hog farms back home.

Here are some of the improvements to Ontario Place for the World Dragon Boat Championships.

Toronto did a little demonstration project to show what it would be like if they removed the east bound lanes through Queens Quay. They planted up the median, expanded the boulevard and converted the car lanes to human powered lanes. Apparantly this isn't so good if you live there but as a tourist, it was fantastic.
Here's the bike arch they erected for the weekend.
